A series of curious encounters
As Ewhurst Park evolves, we are opening our gates to a wider programme of events and experiences. Our Happenings bring the estate to life through seasonal gatherings, nature-led walks, conversations, food and celebrations — inviting visitors to explore the landscape and the work taking place here.
They are a chance to spend time on the land, to see the changes taking place, and to be part of the story of Ewhurst Park as it unfolds.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
As the estate changes, we believe it’s important to share that journey with the local community. Our community events offer opportunities for people to spend time on the land, see how the landscape is evolving, and learn more about the work taking place. They are a chance to come together, ask questions, and reconnect with the natural environment on our doorstep.
upcoming & SEASONAL
Our calendar follows the rhythm of the seasons. Signature events such as Spring Fest, Twilight, and our Christmas celebrations invite visitors to experience the estate as it changes throughout the year — from the first signs of spring, to warm summer evenings, and the festive atmosphere of winter.
Foraging, herbalism and healing workshops
Join us for a hands-on herbalism and foraging experience exploring seasonal edible and medicinal plants and fungi. Walking through the estate with our expert guide, you’ll learn how to safely identify key species, discover their traditional uses for food, medicine and craft, and explore simple preparations such as herbal teas and tisanes. Along the way there will be time to pause, gather materials and connect with nature, before enjoying a relaxed outdoor lunch cooked over the fire featuring foraged ingredients and produce from Ewhurst Park.
BAT WALKS
Explore after dark and discover the fascinating world of bats on our seasonal Bat Walks. Guided by our knowledgeable rangers, you’ll walk through field margins and ancient woodland to bat hotspots, using detectors to hear and identify their calls.
The estate is home to at least nine of the UK’s eighteen bat species, including the rare Barbastelle. As night falls, you may also hear owls calling, deer moving through the woods, or other nocturnal wildlife awakening around you.
A WILD FEAST
Experience an outdoor feast inspired by the landscape of Ewhurst Park. Set within ancient woodland beside the lake, this immersive dining event celebrates seasonal ingredients grown, foraged and produced on the estate.
Begin with a botanical drink at the secluded boathouse before gathering at long communal tables for a woodland feast. The sharing menu showcases vibrant seasonal dishes, with vegetables, foraged ingredients and estate-reared meats cooked over open fire — all rooted in food produced in harmony with the land.

bEAVER ENCLOSURE TOUR & TALK
Learn about Ewhurst Park’s remarkable beavers — the first in Hampshire for over 400 years — and experience their world with an exclusive tour of their 7-acre enclosure. The event begins with a talk from our Rangers on beaver ecology and the important role these animals play in shaping landscapes and supporting biodiversity.
You’ll then join a guided walk through the enclosure to see their dams, felled trees and changing habitat up close, and discover how their activity is transforming the ecosystem. While sightings can’t be guaranteed, there is always the chance of spotting the beavers themselves — especially the young ones born this year.
School education days
Our seasonal education days, held each spring and autumn, welcome local schools to the estate for immersive, hands-on experiences. Designed to reflect the rhythms of nature and farming, each visit includes a mix of engaging presentations and practical activities — from planting and harvesting to earthworm surveys and exploring the soil beneath our feet.
The day runs from 10am to 2pm, with time to pause for lunch, offering a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with the land and learn alongside others in a shared, outdoor setting.
gATHERINGS
From relaxed celebrations to intimate wedding receptions, Ewhurst Park offers a beautiful setting for gatherings of all kinds. Host your event within our unique spaces across the Estate — from elegant indoor settings to open-air locations surrounded by nature. Whether it’s a private dinner, special celebration, or a weekend bringing friends and family together, each gathering at Ewhurst Park is shaped by the landscape, the season, and the sense of being somewhere truly special.
